As part of the “Green Caravan” campaign, APN completed the implementation of a project to support food security for underprivileged families in the Jordan Valley (May 2019). APN planted 1,925 trees of lemons, oranges, guava, grapes, and other fruit-bearing trees in central and southern Jordan Valley and Irbid.

Additionally, APN provided 9 beehives to 2 families in the southern Jordan Valley. Rami Barhoush, APN’s President, stated that the project aims to provide an additional source of income for farmers' families to alleviate poverty and unemployment and to enhance food security, especially in marginalized and less fortunate areas.

Mansour Al-Awnah, a farmer in Southern Jordan Valley, expressed his contentment for harvesting his cultivated land with more than 200 trees, pointing out that thanks to this project, he and his family are enjoying the green landscape and fruits.

The project, supported by the Association Support Fund, was completed with the help of 266 volunteers of different age groups, schools, and universities with the aim of encouraging voluntary work principles and deepening their national sense. It is important to note that the project, in collaboration with Al Ahliyya Agricultural Cooperative and Al Numeira Environmental Association, succeeded in planting 34.5 dunams owned by 26 male and female farmers who support more than 182 family members.
