Through its 'Trees of Life' project in partnership with Bethlehem Farmers Association (June 2019), APN has reinforced the resilience of 284 farmers under the “Million Tree” program in Palestine.

Palestinian farmers were able to plant their land with 12,200 fruit-bearing trees, which consisted of almonds, olives, and grapes of different kinds. The project also succeeded in planting 663 dunams of the following villages: Al Khader, Beit Jala, Nahalin and Wadi Fukin in Bethlehem Governorate (surrounded by 50 settlement outposts).

The project also planted trees in the villages of Sa'ir and Al-Shyoukh in Hebron Governorate, south of West Bank. Moreover, the program included the establishment of a grape vineyard on 2 dunams owned by Rizq Salah, the freed captive farmer. APN also provided 20 beehives to ensure that Salah and his family have a sustainable income.

Mohammed Sabri Manasra, a farmer from the village of Wadi Fukin in Bethlehem, stated that he now relies on cultivating his land for 75% of his total revenue. Manasra also mentioned that APN rehabilitated and planted two plots of agricultural land that was previously destroyed by the Israeli occupation.

As for Jamil Assaf, a farmer in Bethlehem, he was delighted to see his land improve drastically. It became a basic source of income that contributed to the improvement of his living conditions.
