In the heart of the eastern countryside of Bethlehem, on the land of the village of Jub Al Dhib, a new seed of hope was planted. APN, in collaboration with the Jub Al Dhib Women’s Association and with the support of Ideal Solutions Company, planted 2,000 fruit trees, including olive, stone fruits, and guava trees, as part of the Million Tree Campaign.
Jub Al Dhib, home to just 140 residents, has endured decades of suffering under occupation. This small village, still standing steadfast despite the displacement of most of its inhabitants, faces a suffocating siege from surrounding settlements such as "Izdebar", "Ma’ale Rehav’am", and "Nikdem", in addition to an Israeli military camp that blocks its entrances. With construction or even repairing zinc-roofed homes prohibited, life in the village has become a daily struggle for survival.
Today, however, these newly planted trees rise as living proof of the steadfastness of the villagers and their unwavering connection to their land. The dream of greenery in this area, which faces the constant threat of settlement expansion, is becoming a reality, affirming that the roots of life run deeper than the walls of occupation.
