In commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the LOYAC Foundation and the LOYAC Academy of Performing Arts (LAPA) held a charitable event that allocated the proceeds to the cultivation of olive trees in Palestine by supporting APN’s Million Tree Campaign. The campaign aims to support Palestinian farmers, protect their lands from confiscation, and provide a source of food independent of the Zionist occupation.

In her opening address, Ms. Fareah Al Saqqaf, LOYAC Chairperson and Managing Director of the Academy, reflected on the significance of “the olive tree as a symbol of the deep-rooted connection of the Palestinian people to their ancient history and sacred land, the land of peace and the cradle of monotheistic religions". She expressed apologies to the Palestinian people, acknowledging the overshadowing of their suffering in the past two decades by the wars and conflicts within the Arab region. Al Saqqaf stated, “I apologize, O Palestine, O our patient mother, O our first cause, O title of our forgotten Arabism... Forgive us, as their poisons have infiltrated our lives unnoticed, turning everything we consume into arms to harm our children and parents”.

APN Chairperson, Razan Zuayter, delivered a recorded speech, greeting Kuwaitis and all those who chose to resist injustice and occupation. After the events of October 7th, a new page was turned in history, and now there are two inevitable choices: either to stand with genocide and colonization or stand with the resistance against injustice using all means and methods.

She added that at APN, we chose green resistance, where we planted 3 million fruit trees under the slogan "They uproot one... we plant ten”.  APN is committed to promoting food sovereignty in Palestine, Jordan, and the entire Arab world. LOYAC remains dedicated to actively supporting this mission.

The event featured an auction of olive trees, with the generated proceeds allocated to planting of over 4,200 trees in Gaza.
