APN’s team in Palestine helped farmer Ja`afar Assi and his daughter Jude who is ten years of age to plant 400 fruit-bearing trees sponsored by Mr. Abdel Muhsen Younis Abu Shkheidem.

The plot of land which is threatened with expropriation and was inherited by the farmer Ja`afar is situated in Al-Khader village in southern Jerusalem. He considers the land to be the primary theme of his life and the foundation of his existence. Planting trees represents a gate of hope for him given that it will protect the land from expropriation.

Farmer Ja`afar stated that he and his family fought for the survival of this land with their presence, exerting effort to drive away the settlers and their livestock while building a fence around it. Then came the noble donation from Abu Shkheidem and in conjunction with the efforts of APN, success was achieved, to remain resilient in their land and live from the income of this land and its product.
