A sensitive agricultural activity in the area of Al-Khalayel in Jerusalem’s Suburbs took place, to confront the venomous Israeli snake or Highway 60 which cuts through the West Bank governorates longitudinally from the Negev in the south to Nazareth in the north, devouring Palestinian lands.

Hence, the mission of APN emerged, to stand with the owners of the land, buried by the occupation during the construction of the highway, leaving the rightful owners vulnerable to expropriation. However, their determination and persistence, in tandem with the capabilities of APN, and with a noble contribution from Al-Ridwan Schools, the debris were removed from the land which was then planted with 1065 fruit-bearing trees, which the owners perceive as proof of their presence.

The challenge this time emerged at manifold levels given that the land is situated in proximity to the racist separation barrier, in an area that is prohibited to Palestinians, and on a land whose landscape features dissolved due to the scheme to build the highway in a nefarious action which demolished fruitful trees that surrounded Jerusalem contributed from the east of the River Jordan.
