General Manager, Mariam Al Jaajaa, delivered a recorded speech at the International League of Peoples' Struggle (ILPS) – US national assembly, which she pointed out the role of neo-liberal policies imposed by states and international financial institutions on our countries; impositions which forced us to partake in a global market system based on double standards and unequal power balance between rich and poor and between the Global North and the Global South.
Al Jaajaa further emphasized the importance, in parallel to the fight against political hegemony and imperial wars, of developing a food system and a resisting economy; seeing that we will never attain political sovereignty without first attaining sovereignty over our food and natural resources.
