APN met with the National Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in order to discuss a number of important files, foremost of which are the ongoing preparations for the IUCN World Environmental Conference, which are to be held next September in France, in addition to conducting discussions with Mrs. Razan Al-Mubarak, the elected Arab candidate to become IUCN's Chair in the coming session, in order to determine the crucial factors that need to be addressed given that she becomes the next IUCN Chair (26 August 2021).

During her meeting with Mrs. Al-Mubarak, APN's General Manager Manager Mariam Al-JaaJaa indicated the importance of activating and implementing the decisions that APN previously succeeded in promoting to IUCN to approve in order to protect the region, especially those related to the accountability of the Israeli Occupation Forces for their environmental violations in the region and imposing compensations for the benefit of the affected regions/land.

Mrs. Mariam Al-JaaJaa had inquired about Mrs. Al-Mubaraks role and plans in activating the membership of root organizations in IUCN, given that partnerships with IUCN were limited within the framework of large organizations.

Mrs. Al Mubarak took these observations into consideration and interest, as she also promised to follow-up and work to include them as priorities in IUCN's upcoming plan and agenda.
