Razan Zuayter, Chair of the Board at the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature, stressed during a workshop to discuss the draft for the new biosafety law the right of Jordanian citizens to know the details of consumer materials. She denounced a proposal to declare the percentage of modified substances in manufactured products only if it reached 5% or more when the limit had been 1% before (11 August 2021).
 

The Ministry of Environment held a meeting for members of the Steering Committee of the project to implement the National Biosafety Framework to discuss the draft biosafety law. The Minister of Environment Nabil Masarwe, Project Coordinator Khaled Al-Majali, and a specialized team of technicians and jurists to prepare the law were present at the meeting.
 

Zuayter called on the Syndicate of Agricultural Engineers, as a representative of its members in the committee, to open a transparent dialogue between the various members concerned to come up with a unified position on this matter.
