A campaign was launched by The Arab Group for the Protection of Nature to compensate Jordanians whose farms were damaged by fires deliberately set by Israelis in the northern Jordan Valley. Around 500 dunums of agricultural land were destroyed in the fires. The organization provided the farmers with fruit trees to replace the ones they lost (June 3, 2021).

The Arab Group for the Protection of Nature has indicated that it seeks through this initiative to shed light on the suffering of these farmers who are exposed to this on an annual basis and in the most fertile agricultural lands, with no official authority stepping up to compensate them or prevent the recurrence of these fires.

Farmers who benefited from the initiative and whose lands and trees were devastated by the fires thanked those in charge of organizing it and requested attention paid to their plight.

General Manager of the organization Mariam Al Jaajaa said that the Israeli entity intends to ignite these fires which cause great damage to farms near the border to destroy Jordanian farms and the first stages of food systems.
