Hassan Al Jaajaa, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature, warned against frustration, inaction, and surrender to the escalating waves of Arab normalization with the Israeli entity. He said, "We have no choice and nothing to do but to continue resistance and work until our rights are fully restored. We are at sea and we have to swim, for drowning is not an option, and there is no room for surrender or neutrality."

Al Jaajaa delivered these remarks as a speaker on the first day of the symposium titled "Resisting Normalization and Defending the Land" under the slogan "All the Land is Palestine," which was organized by Women for Jerusalem Society in light of the 45th anniversary of Land Day (March 30, 2021). The gathering brought together prominent speakers from Palestine and various Arab countries.

Al Jaajaa said, "It is good to link the Palestinian occasions, such as Land Day, to talk of the unfortunate normalization with the Zionist entity. Land Day's sacrifices bring us back to the basis of the conflict with this occupier, remind us of the pivotal role that the Palestinian people play in confronting the occupiers, and of Palestinian initiative, creativity in resistance, and the expression of Palestinian rights in light of shameful Arab silence. "

AL Jaajaa explained that Arab normalization deals should not invite despair and frustration, stressing that they will lead to failure. He detailed the economic and agricultural results of normalization in Palestine and Jordan and explained the magnitude of settlement expansion during the decades of normalization, saying, “the size of the settlements more than quadrupled from prior to the signing of the Oslo Agreement: from 144 to 528 colonial outposts and 252,000 to 834,000 settlers.

Al Jaajaa condemned the UAE’s establishment of a $10 billion fund to support projects in Israel, including in energy, manufacturing, water, space, health care, agricultural technology. He commented, “It is unfortunate what the UAE is doing, but it will undoubtedly reap disappointment.” He warned of a "fateful future problem" related to Zionist investment in the UAE and the amended nationality law, which would allow Zionists to obtain Emirati citizenship, upon which they could own property in any Gulf Arab country under existing GCC agreements.

Al Jaajaa recommended the launch of various popular initiatives and development projects, saying that they raise fear in the occupation. He pointed the fierce Israeli attacks on APN’s work due to its effort to support Palestinian farmers and cultivate trees in the various Palestinian governorates.
