As part of a ceremonial event organized by the Public Security Directorate on The Day of the Tree, the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature planted 230 fruit trees on land surrounding the Al Uhud Security Centre in cooperation with the Greater Amman Municipality. The event was under the patronage of Brigadier General Hatem Al-Mawajdeh who participated in the tree planting.  A number of police directors, local council members, and public security personnel also participated in the tree-planting campaign (January 17, 2021).

The Public Security Directorate launched an initiative to plant 100,000 trees in all governorates of Jordan on the Kingdom's centenary.

One of the founding members of the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature and Chairperson of the Scientific Committee Mr Hassan Al Jaajaa praised the initiative. Mr Al Jaajaa said, "It is nice to see, after a few years, the officers at the security centre eating olives, citrus fruits and almonds that they planted themselves".

Al Jaajaa handed a copy of the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature annual report to senior security officers at the centre. He said that the organization sees the country as an integrated unit and that security centres are an essential pillar. He is pleased to see projects that focus on agriculture and preserving the environment.
