APN’s Chairperson of the Board and founder of the Arab Network for Food Sovereignty, Eng. Razan Zuayter, attended an introductory meeting organized by the Arab International Investor Forum (AIIF) in Amman for its new Board of Trustees, at the invitation of the secretary general of the Forum Mr. Nadhim Mohammad Al-Sabah. The meeting was attended by a number of economists, former ministers, businessmen, and Jordanian and Arab investors.

During her intervention, Zuayter emphasized that what is needed are responsible, just and sustainable economy and investments, founded on the interest of the public, whereby the popular base stands to benefit and not just a small portion of investors as is the case usually with investments in the Arab region presently. She also stressed that the necessity of strengthening food sovereignty is not just limited to the national context but rests on a comprehensive view of the Arab region, and to achieve this it is imperative to have Arab economic integration.

As an example of responsible investment, Zuayter alluded to the experience of the Sanabel Landscape Architecture | Urban Design & Planning, where she serves as Director - Partner in addition to her voluntary work at APN, where the company gave due regard in all its projects to sustainable development, in addition to its developmental and societal role as a main sponsor of APN and the incubator of the team in Jordan.

It may be noted that the establishment of Arab International Investor Forum (AIIF) in the Arab region, emerged as a means to incentivize the special efforts supporting sustainable investment.
