The founder of  Arab Network for Food Sovereignty,  and the chairperson of the board of directors of APN, Razan Zuayter met with Mr. Abdul Hakim Al waer, FAO Assistant Director- General and Regional Representative for the Near East and North Africa.

In the course of the meeting held in Cairo, there was discussion of ways and means of cementing cooperation related to achieving the goals of sustainable development, particularly the elimination of hunger and poverty in the Arab region.

This encounter comes as a continuation of the relationship of partnership between FAO and APN which FAO entrusted, in December 2021, to coordinate and organize the consultative meeting of civil society, such prior to holding the ministerial meeting held in Baghdad in February 2022, with the presence of representatives of ministries of 36 Asian and African countries, and 3 representatives of Arab civil society, among which was APN
