APN completed a project in Gaza with support from the Direct Aid Society and Kuwait Society for Relief as part of the Revive Gaza’s Farmland project launched at the end of March. The project targeted northern and southern areas of the Gaza Strip, aiming to enhance food security and empower farming families to improve their productivity and living conditions amidst ongoing genocide.
In the northern region, the project involved the planting of 246,350 diverse vegetable seedlings over 153.65 dunums, benefiting 91 farming families and supporting 555 individuals. Additionally, 20 kilograms of hamsees (a local herb) were planted.
The project also rehabilitated 17 greenhouses. The planted vegetable seedlings included:
- 127,300 cucumber seedlings
- 46,000 eggplant seedlings
- 46,050 zucchini seeds
- 19,500 tomato seedlings
- 7,500 cauliflower seedlings
- 200 kilograms of hamseeh
In the southern region, the project successfully planted 531,300 vegetable seedlings on 193 dunums, benefiting 110 farming families with a total of 683 individuals. The vegetables included:
- 205,000 tomato seedlings
- 95,000 cabbage seedlings
- 86,000 eggplant seedlings
- 79,300 cucumber seedlings
- 30,000 cauliflower seedlings
- 21,000 chili pepper seedlings
- 15,000 sweet pepper seedlings
Direct Aid and Kuwait Society for Relief expressed pride in the accomplishments of this project and reaffirmed their commitment to support Gaza to improve the lives of its people.
