With APN’s lead global civil society participated in the first session of negotiations for the Agenda for Action for Addressing Food Insecurity in Protracted Crises at the Food and Agriculture Organization headquarters in Rome from July 29 - August 1, 2014. Representatives of civil society made many interventions and influenced the course of negotiations.

Members were able to make many alliances with organizations and individuals in Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Razan Zuaiter and Mariam Jaajaa of APN presented many interventions on subjects such as occupation, siege, the use of the human rights-based approach, the need to support the agricultural sector in crisis, and the lack of sufficient humanitarian aid supporting sustainable development. Participants insisted on an agenda that could be applied and monitored in ways involving the affected communities.Due to discussions among participants, the CFS decided to organize another meeting in March 2015 to complete the negotiations.Link to the Agenda for Action for Addressing Food Insecurity in Protracted Crises:
