APN signed an agreement with the International Islamic Charity Organization – Kuwait to implement the "Economic Empowerment and Enhancement of Food and Water Security through Sustainable Agricultural Projects" project, under the supervision of the Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture.

The project targets 600 farming families across the northern, central, and southern regions of the Jordan Valley. The project’s components include cultivating 25,000 fruit trees and 5,000 kilograms of vegetable seeds, installing irrigation networks over 375 dunums of farmland, constructing and rehabilitating 50 agricultural ponds, and providing 200 beehives. Additionally, the project includes a fruit, vegetable, and herb drying initiative benefiting 30 farming families.

A total of 475 GR-type drip irrigation pipes, each 400 meters long, were distributed, covering an area of 95 dunums. Additionally, 33 agricultural ponds were rehabilitated, contributing to the storage of over 20,500 cubic meters of water. This benefited approximately 83 farmers in Gawr as-Safi area.

The project is significant for its economic, social, and environmental impact, as it responds to the real needs of rural communities in the Jordan Valley, especially farmers, with a focus on women. It aims to combat unemployment, increase income opportunities, expand productive agricultural land, and utilize surplus agricultural production while enhancing water resource management. These efforts will positively impact the entire country.

A press conference will be held at the end of next month to announce the components of the project.
