Razan Zuayter, President of APN was invited to participate in the Arab Consultative Meeting on the Sustainable Development Goals, which was organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in cooperation with the Arab League, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), Regional Office for West Asia (ROWA), and the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Tunisia between the 18th-19th of November 2013.

The meeting discussed the Sustainable Development Goals , the post-15 Development Agenda and other global negotiations that are underway including the recent meetings of the 68th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations .During the meeting, Zuayter emphasized on the importance of regional Arab integration whereas without it there won’t be real partnership in international platforms “We should work on developing a detailed and unified framework for sustainable development in the Arab world that consists of a common and realistic strategy that includes mechanisms for implementation and monitoring and allocation of responsibilities especially in the case of food security.”
