APN's Green Caravan and Jordan Ahli Bank plant 400 fruit trees the Southern Jordan Valley

As a show of support to the farmers and local communities in the area, the Green Caravan landed in the southern Jordan Valley, one of the most fertile agricultural areas in the Kingdom, where APN planted 400 fruit-bearing including citrus fruits and guava with the participation of the Jordan Ahli Bank and under its patronage of APN, and to promote the food security of families of limited income who work in the agricultural sector.

Two farming families will benefit from this initiative composed of 12 family members, where 60 volunteer students participated in this agricultural activity from the local area in cooperation with the Al Numeira Environmental Association.

The event was attended by APN’s Chairperson of the Board, Eng. Razan Zuayter, who listened to the concerns of the farmers in the area and the problems they face, in addition to the APN’s Technical Expert, Eng. Hassan Al Jaajaa, APN’s Project Manager, Eng. Mohammad Qtaishat who gave a detailed presentation on the method of planting trees along with a team from the Jordan Ahli Bank.

On his part the General Manager and CEO of Jordan Ahli Bank Dr. Ahmed Al-Hussein expressed his pride, while alluding to the interest of the bank in environmental conservation, and its continual focus on the promotion of sustainability activities. He also expressed his satisfaction with the ability of the bank to be present in all the areas of the Kingdom and its contribution to involving the local community in creating change.

Concerning the activity, Zuayter said: reaching marginalized rural areas is considered one of the priorities of APN’s programme in Jordan, and it pleases us always to be present with the farmers in all the locations where they are present, and to help them benefit from their lands thereby also supporting and promoting food security and moving the economic cycle, and concurrently helping them to cultivate agricultural lands capable of securing the food needs of the Kingdom.
