APN has been invited to the opening session of the second Palestinian Housing Right conference held in the West Bank city of Ramallah. It was launched on May 27th, 2015 by the Palestinian Land Research Center headed by Dr. Jamal Talab.

An address by APN president Razan Zuayter was read out on her behalf. Zuayter emphasized the role of the organization in implementing its tree planting program in conjunction with its Palestinian partners to defend the land and prevent its confiscation as well as foster food security. Zuayter also focused on APN’s achievements at global level that shed light on food insecurity in protracted crises, its causes and means to address and prevent it. She affirmed the need for cooperation among Palestinian civil society organizations and integration of their efforts to unify their work strategies and coordinate with the regional incubator organization to develop Arab agricultural strategies that underline solidarity with Palestine, a goal that led APN and the Palestinian Land Research Center along with a number of Arab organizations to set up the Arab Network for Food Sovereignty.

A number of experts along with participants from public and private institutions and from Palestine 1948 attended the conference which focused on Israeli occupation practices against the Palestinian housing right and free use of  land.  Deliberations touched on the legal right of Palestinians to defend these inalienable rights under international treaties and conventions signed by Palestine. Initiatives made by Palestinians and their supporters towards defending such rights were highlighted at the conference.
