APN was invited to speak on the struggle for just peace in Palestine at a conference organized by the People’s Forum on Peace for Life (PfL) titled “Wars in the Era of Empire and the Imperative for Just Peace and Solidarity” in the Philippines. The conference brought together individuals and grassroots movements from around the world to strengthen international solidarity in the fight for a just peace.

The presentation described the history of Palestine and how the settler colonial of Israel came to be. The presentation went on to expose Israel’s systematic campaign to confiscate Palestinian land by waging an agricultural war against Palestinians where trees are the primary victims. Trees are targeted for their high cultural, economic, and political significance to the Palestinian people and their crucial role in preserving Palestinian lands and livelihoods.

The presentation concluded with a glimmer of hope by highlighting APN’s work and specifically the accomplishments of the Million Tree Campaign in Palestine which has successfully planted over 2.7 million trees for 30,000 farmers who support around 225,000 family members.
