APN screens the film (resilience), directed by Philip Rizk

Amman 14/7/2009 – APN organized in cooperation with Daret AlFonoun on Wednesday, July 15 at 7:30 a screening of a documentary film entitled "resilience" or "this is the Palestinian life", directed by Philip Rizk, in addition to the evening concert for the band "over dose".

This comes within the outreach programs and public education policies of the APN through film screenings and educational lectures in collaboration with the cultural spaces in Jordan.This film tackles a number of stories told by Palestinian farmers who remain steadfast in their land to protect it from confiscation, and it talks about their resilience in the face of settlers' violence and the Israeli occupation under the international community's silence.

The film talks also about the peaceful resistance of the Palestinians, the resistance which Phillip describes, "We do not see at all in the Western media and the American." The movie conveys the reality of their plight.

Where it mentions their expulsion from their lands, and the threat posed by the settlements on their land, and the stability and the steadfastness of the Palestinian people despite the constraints and the considerable obstacles they face.One Palestinian in the movie says about his life, "we are not as powerful as Israel, we are not politicians, we are people who want to live and asking for peace, and we remain on our land as they despair, and leave alone."Philip Rizk, an Egyptian activist and journalist holding a German citizenship, had lived in the Gaza Strip in the period from 2005 to 2007.

Philip holds a bachelor degree in art and philosophy. He has been kidnapped by the Egyptian security forces for taking part in a peaceful sit-in to support Gaza before being released.
