In support of planting trees and helping the Palestinian farmers to hold on to their lands, APN organized its Annual Find-raising dinner on February 11th at the Landmark Hotel in Amman under the title "Zero Hunger".

The event included more than 800 participants, and was in cooperation with around 40 sponsors of corporations and individuals. The event aims at planting 100,000 trees in Palestine, which will be the source of income for 800 families consisting of 4,800 members, all through planting three thousand acres in several towns and villages in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. The selection of these villages was chosen based of special studies giving the priority for farmers whose lands are at higher risk of confiscation by the Israeli government, lands that are exposed to constant attacks by the Israeli settlers, and lands that were completely destroyed by Israeli attacks and bulldozers.

The event, which was hosted by the great Jordanian Artist, Nadera Omran, included a lecture by the international activist Professor Renato Maalouf, President of the National Council of Food and Nutrition Security (CONSEA) and lecturer at the University of Rio de Janeiro, where he talked about the Brazilian experience in the eradication of hunger, where more than 20 million people below the poverty line were saved.

The dinner included a speech by President of APN where Eng. Razan Zuater discussed food sovereignty by asking the Arab governments and peoples to rely on themselves to secure their bread, through the adoption of the right agricultural policies. The event also involved lovely musical pieces by the Jordanian orchestra, Naya Ensemble, which consists of 12 female artists of musicians and singers covering music from our rich Arab heritage in a simplified style.
