APN president Razan Zuayter, representing the Arab civil society, was invited to attend the meetings of the Committee on Food Security (CFS) Advisory Group in Rome. She attended the Group’s meeting on March,2nd,2015 and earlier, the preparatory meeting on Feb. 28th-March,1st,2015 devoted to the Group’s members  of the global civil society.

Both meetings focused on nutrition related issues, sustainable development goals and preparations for a high-level  forum on ways to connect small-holder farmers to markets. Discussions also focused on the forthcoming 42nd session of CFS in Rome due to be held in October, 2015.

On March, 3rd, 2015, Zuayter headed an open-ended meeting of the government representatives with the global civil society mechanism where she and a representative of Latin American indigenous peoples spoke about demands of the civil society groups involved in agriculture and food security issues.
