APN and a group of civil society representatives evaluated the performance of the current secretariat of CSM, denouncing the domination of the representatives of the Northern regions which led to ignoring the concerns and aspirations of poor communities affected by crises, wars and conflicts, and stabilizing the priorities and interest of rich countries. (August 9th, 2021)
This came during a joint assessment that brought together the active members in preparing the report on “The Civil Society and Indigenous Peoples Mechanism” on the use and application of the framework for action on food security and nutrition in protracted crises issued by the committee on Food Security (FFA-CFS).
The attendees called on CSM to adhere to the standards of transparency and justice in dealing with the files at hand, calling it to stand at the same distance from the representatives of all countries, while respecting differences of opinion.
