Livelihoods Rooted in the Land: The Green Caravan Plants Over 4,000 Trees and Advances Agricultural Projects Across Jordan

During April, May, and June, the Green Caravan Programme continued to expand its agricultural and environmental impact across Jordan.

  • APN launched the "Productive Livelihoods" project with support from Housing Bank, featuring four key interventions to support smallholder farmers: providing fruit trees, installing solar-powered water pumping systems, establishing productive beehives, and setting up model laying hen houses with feed supplies. These interventions aim to strengthen self-sufficiency and enhance the livelihoods of households.

 

 

The Green Caravan also planted over 4,000 trees in partnership with national institutions, banks, and companies, including:

  • 500 olive trees planted in Al Jizah in partnership with Royal Jordanian, supporting five farming families.

 

  • 500 mixed fruit trees planted in Al-Kashef area in Badr in partnership with Capital Bank, in commemoration of World Environment Day.  

 

  • 500 olive trees planted in Al Jizah in partnership with Safwa Bank to mark Earth Day, alongside seven farmers.  

 

 

  • 460 olive trees planted in partnership with Medlabs across nearly 10 dunums in Al Jizah.
  • 400 citrus trees planted in Al Jizah with the participation of 40 employees from Bank al Etihad, supporting a woman farmer.  

 

 

  • 200 fruit trees – including figs, stone fruits, grapes, olives, and pomegranates – planted in Badr in partnership with the Jordan Commercial Bank, supporting a farming family cultivating four dunums.

  

  • A volunteer activity organized in Al-Amiriyah in partnership with Nabil Foods, during which 200 fruit trees were planted for a farming family with the participation of 20 volunteers.

 

  • 100 fruit trees planted in Badr in partnership with Agrimatco.

 

  • 100 fruit trees, including olives, grapes, and stone fruits, planted in Badr with the participation of 40 volunteers from Edgo and their family members.  

 

  • 100 fruit trees, including stone fruits and grapes, planted in Badr in partnership with City Mall, supporting a farming family.

 

 

  • 50 fruit trees planted in Badr in partnership with ADATCO, supporting a local farmer.
