Launched in March 2024, APN’s "Revive Gaza’s Farmland" project continues to move forward with determination, working to restore agricultural lands and strengthen the steadfastness of Palestinian farmers across the Gaza Strip. To date, the project has cultivated 1,256 dunums of farmland, directly benefiting 705 farmers who, in turn, support over 12,000 people.
We have also distributed 2,939 kilograms of seeds and over 2.29 million seedlings. Alongside the provision of essential agricultural inputs, we supported the rehabilitation of three water wells and 17 greenhouses, and provided 36 fishing nets and 28 home poultry units. Together, these efforts have broadened our project’s reach to families who continue to endure.
Despite the occupation’s intensifying genocide in Gaza—particularly in the north—APN’s work over the past three months has helped reintroduce diverse crops into local markets, including eggplant, zucchini, pumpkin, molokhia, Swiss chard, cowpeas, corn, potatoes, and tomatoes. This increase in local produce laid the foundation for a powerful extension of our efforts to confront the man-made famine: "From the Besieged Farmer to the Besieged Family". Through this initiative, we supported the distribution of 757 baskets of fresh vegetables to families in need.
But the work didn’t stop there. In coordination with grassroots community kitchens (tkiyat), APN also supplied ingredients for hot meals that reached around 1,400 people. These efforts reaffirm that in Gaza, farming is not only a means of survival—it is an act of resistance and a declaration of dignity in the face of the occupation’s ongoing blockade and genocidal war on life.
