Despite the ongoing war and the suffocating siege, APN continues its project to revive agriculture in the Gaza Strip. In the first three months of this year, APN successfully planted 116 dunums of essential food crops, bringing the total area planted since the launch of the project one year ago to 1,019 dunums.

The project aims to provide a local and secure food source that meets the needs of the population and strengthens the steadfastness of Palestinian farmers in the face of the difficult humanitarian and economic conditions in the Strip, under the ongoing genocide.

So far, the project reached 537 farmers who support around 3,370 people, in addition to the completion of a water well in the Jabalia refugee camp that serves 6,000 people. A vital project in an area suffering from severe water shortages.

The successfully harvested crops this year include tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, cabbage, potatoes, onions, peas, Swiss chard, cucumbers, and garlic, as part of a plan to secure a diverse food basket directly from the land, amidst the restrictions on the entry of goods from abroad.
