Sa'ir, one of the largest towns in Hebron Governorate in the West Bank, lies 8 kilometers northeast of the city. Known for its mountainous terrain and vast agricultural lands, its community relies primarily on agriculture and trade for their livelihood.
The town is surrounded by Israeli settlements that pose a serious threat to its land and natural resources. Among the most prominent are Asfar and Kiryat Arba, one of the largest settlements in Hebron, alongside Bnei Kedem and Ma'ale Amos. Additionally, numerous illegal settlement outposts encircle the town, serving as tools in the occupation’s expansion plans, linking settlements through a network of bypass roads.
Sa'ir’s residents endure frequent settler attacks, including the burning of crops and destruction of trees, aimed at forcing farmers off their land. Meanwhile, Israeli authorities continue to seize land for settlement expansion and construct roads that restrict Palestinian movement and hinder the town’s development.
In response to these violations and to strengthen the steadfastness of the town’s residents, APN planted fruit trees on several plots of land in Sa’ir. 500 trees were planted with the support of Mr. Samir Abdel Hadi. Additionally, Ayla Oasis contributed to the planting of 500 more trees across two plots of land, while Globatel provided 200 trees to support another farmer.
Despite these challenges, Sa'ir’s people remain steadfast, holding onto their land and continuing to cultivate it as part of their daily resistance against settlement expansion. Their unwavering determination sends a clear message: Palestinian land will not be surrendered, no matter the occupation’s attempts.
