The "Economic Empowerment and Enhancement of Food and Water Security” project continues its progress with the planting of 18,045 diverse fruit trees across 365.2 dunums of land. This project is being implemented by APN with support from the International Islamic Charitable Organization in Kuwait.
Additionally, 716 rolls of irrigation pipes and nylon covers for 54 agricultural ponds were secured, which enhances the capabilities of farmers in the area.
To date, the project has benefited 208 farmers and contributed to the creation of 2,085 job opportunities, reflecting a positive economic and social impact on the local communities.
Various groups participated in the planting process, including students from Al Hussein Technical University, students from Abu ‘Ubaidah Islamic School and Kindergarten, Al-Ridwan Boy Scouts, as well as several female volunteers and their families.
The project, which was announced during a press conference in early November, aims to support approximately 600 farmers from various areas of the northern, central, and southern Jordan Valley over the course of a year.
These efforts align with APN’s mission to empower farmers, enabling them to effectively utilize agricultural lands while enhancing food and water security, particularly in areas facing climatic and economic challenges.
