APN | Jerusalem – Jab’a
29 September 2024
The village of Jab’a village is located in Area C along the 1948 Armistice Line, surrounded by settlements from all sides, known as the Gush Etzion settlement bloc, with only one entrance controlled by the occupation’s forces.
The village has 7,318 dunums of arable land, but the occupation has confiscated around 5,527 dunums—about 69% of the village’s total area of 7,969 dunums—to build the apartheid wall, which isolated 90% of the village behind it. As part of a systematic campaign to destroy the village’s trees, the occupation uprooted approximately 2,920 fruit trees.
However, APN reached these besieged lands and planted 160 fruit trees, supported by the family of the late Barjas Hamed Al Barjas, to reinforce the farmers’ steadfastness on their lands.
