As part of the inaugural edition of the “BilAraby” initiative—one of the Qatar Foundation’s programmes—Razan Zuayter, APN President, shared her vision connecting agriculture, culture, and resistance, affirming that agriculture is not merely an economic or environmental practice, but a cultural act that reflects the identity of peoples and serves as a form of resistance against displacement and food colonialism.

The initiative featured remarkable participation from intellectual and cultural figures from across and beyond Qatar, including the presence of Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation. The initiative aims to promote the Arabic language in intellectual and cultural discourse, while providing a space for engagement among thought leaders, policymakers, academics, and media professionals from the Arab world.

In her session, titled “Green Resistance”, Zuayter emphasized that a people’s connection to their land and agricultural practices is a form of resistance that safeguards sovereignty and true independence.

She shared the story of how APN was born—starting as a simple initiative that, through dedication and belief in the cause, grew into a pioneering project that has established itself across the Arab region. It has contributed to the planting of over 3,250,000 fruit trees in Jordan and Palestine.
