As part of the second phase of our “Revive Gaza’s Farmland” project, our team has launched new agricultural initiatives in Gaza. For the first time since the onset of the genocide, wheat has been planted on 42 dunums of land in the southern Gaza Strip, benefiting six farmers and implemented with the support of several local organisations. This step helps restore local food production and reduce reliance on external supplies amid ongoing blockades.
The project also supports beekeeping, a sector that has also been severely affected by the occupation’s ecocidal practices. In cooperation with the Sameer Project, four beekeepers received support for 52 beehives through the provision of 2,600 kilograms of sugar. This assistance enables bees to regain strength and rebuild their colonies amid the vast destruction of land and vegetation that once sustained honey production in Gaza.
