APN | Nablus
9 December 2025
In response to an appeal from Khadija Afana, a farmer from Qaryout, south of Nablus, whose olive trees were destroyed by the occupation, APN replanted 120 olive saplings to rehabilitate her damaged land.
The initiative stood as a powerful expression of solidarity, standing with Palestinian farmers to remain steadfast on their land, particularly women, who often form the frontline of defense for agriculture and rural livelihoods. APN emphasised that replanting olive trees is not merely a form of compensation for what was destroyed, but also an act of sumud (steadfastness), reaffirming attachment to the land and safeguarding the agricultural heritage passed down through generations of Palestinian families.
Khadija expressed her joy at the initiative, which restored not only trees to her land, but also a renewed sense of hope and continuity.
