In our 2025 annual report, we are proud to share the outcomes of a year marked by diverse field achievements and international engagements, advancing our work across three main pillars: agricultural rehabilitation, advocacy, and mobilization. As such, we continue to honour our position as one of the leading Arab organizations working to defend food sovereignty and protect land in light of the mounting political and humanitarian challenges afflicting the region.
Over the past year, APN strengthened agricultural rehabilitation across our programmes in Jordan, Palestine, and Lebanon. In Jordan, the Green Caravan programme saw the planting of 34,415 fruit trees for 807 farmers, alongside the completion of the “Economic Empowerment and Food and Water Security” Project in the Jordan Valley. As part of the project, we distributed fruit trees and seeds, bringing the total number of fruit trees planted through the programme to 269,000. We also rehabilitated water infrastructure, worked with beekeepers, and supported rural women through various productive initiatives.
In Palestine, the Million Tree Campaign continued to strengthen farmers’ steadfastness through the planting of over 140,000 fruit trees across various governorates, bringing the total number of fruit trees planted since 2001 to over 3.1 million, in addition to wheat cultivation. The "Revive Gaza’s Farmland" project also expanded in response to the immense destruction of the agricultural sector amid the ongoing genocide, planting hundreds of thousands of vegetable seedlings, rehabilitating water infrastructure, cultivating fruit trees and wheat, supporting beekeeping, alongside providing urgent food assistance at the height of the man-made famine. APN also launched the “Sumud for Advancing Food Sovereignty in Palestinian Villages” project, working to strengthen agricultural and water infrastructure and support frontline communities to build robust and self-sufficient food systems through home gardens and small-scale farming. In Lebanon, the “Together for Lebanon’s Olives” project began rehabilitating lands targeted by Israeli attacks, planting 12,200 olive seedlings across 52 border villages and supporting wheat production in one of them.
Within the policy and advocacy space, APN intensified its presence in regional and international forums, defending the right to food and food sovereignty, as well as calling for accountability for the continued use of starvation as a weapon of genocide in Gaza. We also successfully integrated accountability-related provisions into negotiations of the UN Committee on World Food Security, and contributed to shaping regional positions on land, environment, and food justice. In Jordan, our advocacy spanned national campaigns to protect agricultural lands, while we also produced in-depth studies and recommendations to strengthen food sovereignty.
Forging ahead with grassroots mobilization, APN launched the "International People’s Tribunal on Forced Starvation and Ecocide in Palestine" in Barcelona, in collaboration with international organizations, which concluded by condemning the occupation for crimes of genocide, ecocide, and forced starvation. We also led international solidarity initiatives for Palestine and Sudan, and took part in Arab and international conferences as well as intellectual platforms to advance the concept of “Green Resistance” and link food sovereignty with liberation struggles and environmental justice.
On the awareness front, the “If Only You Knew” programme continued to foster understanding on agricultural and food sovereignty across schools, universities, and refugee camps, reaching thousands of students and volunteers. APN also strengthened its media presence through dozens of press materials and interviews covering its programmes and initiatives in Arabic, English, French, German, and Spanish, thereby expanding its outreach and reinforcing its regional and international presence.
