
APN is currently preparing to hold the second conference in cooperation with the Arab Network for Food Sovereignty and the Committee on Food Security which includes the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Food Program, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, and International Civil Society Mechanism.
The conference will be held in the period September 11-13 this year in Amman. The conference will examine a number of topics, including the agenda of the work on food security in protracted crises and conflicts, the principles of the responsible agricultural investments which is also in the process of preparation by the Committee on World Food Security, and how to monitor the decisions of the CFS and their application in the states and consult Arab civil society in preparing a booklet on how to help communities implement the voluntary guidelines on responsible governance of land tenure, fisheries and forests in the context of national food security.
