APN hosted a group of 15 students from the "Technology for Sustainable Development" course, part of New York University Abu Dhabi's experiential learning program. During the visit, APN General Manager delivered a lecture on the agricultural history of the Arab region, with a particular focus on Palestine and Jordan.

The lecture addressed the root causes behind the dismantling of the agricultural sector and the transformation of the region from a food-producing area into one of the world’s largest food importers. It also examined how Western technologies have contributed to the colonization of the region, fostering dependency and undermining food sovereignty, highlighting issues such as hydroponics, genetically modified seeds, and precision agriculture.

The session also explored what responsible use of technology entails, emphasizing the importance of context-appropriate tools that support local needs, strengthen sovereignty, and sustain livelihoods. The lecture concluded with a presentation on APN’s work and projects.

Following the session, the students joined APN’s team to plant 100 olive trees in the Al-Jizah area in support of a local farmer.
