Razan Zuayter, Co-founder of APN, chaired the Executive Committee of the World People's Coalition on Food Sovereignty (PCFS) in Hong Kong, along with Sylvia Malari, President of the Asian Farmers Alliance (20-21 June). 

The Committee discussed, among other issues, campaigns relating to land and resource appropriation, famine resulting from war and occupation, climate change solutions and corporate control of agriculture. The meeting also reviewed the policies associated with the historic United Nations Declaration on the Right of Peasants (UNDROP) and the Food Sovereignty of Peoples. 

During the two-day meetings, members agreed upon the new mechanism for accepting newcomers to the committee.  Zuayter stressed the importance of transparency in the management of the Alliance and called for raising the level of mutual trust among members of the Executive Committee.
