From Seed to Harvest: APN Brings Food Sovereignty to Life by Cultivating 769 Dunums of Wheat Across Three Arab Countries

During the current agricultural season, we launched a regional initiative to cultivate a total of 769 dunums of wheat across Jordan, Palestine, and southern Lebanon. This forms part of our mission to keep farmers rooted in their land and promote food sovereignty at both local and regional levels amid the systematic targeting of Arab agriculture. We also organized a community initiative, "Ears of Impact", to harvest the wheat we cultivated in Jordan, bringing together national institutions, volunteers, and activists to protect our agricultural land and national food production.

Revive Gaza’s Farmland Project Grows Its Impact, Achievements, and Partnerships

Through the "Revive Gaza’s Farmland" project, we achieved tangible results during the second quarter of 2026, cultivating 476 dunums with vegetables, wheat, and fruit trees. We also launched a joint project with the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development to cultivate 700 dunums and rehabilitate several agricultural greenhouses. In addition, we cultivated 55 dunums as part of a campaign led by Avaaz’s members, and over 5 dunums supported by the Women for Gaza initiative. We also launched, in cooperation with The Sameer Project, an initiative supporting beekeeping, alongside the implementation of an urgent rodent control campaign in three displacement camps in northern Gaza.

We Brought Food Sovereignty and Land to the Forefront of Regional and International Platforms

Building on our regional and international advocacy, we launched our report “Land and Conflict in the Arab Region” during the World Urban Forum in Baku, Azerbaijan. Through our interventions at FAO ministerial meetings, civil society consultations, and the League of Arab States, we called for the adoption of an integrated approach grounded in food sovereignty, climate justice, and the strengthening of civil society’s role. We also joined FAO's project “The Right to Food in Conflict Settings and Protracted Crises”, examining ways to dismantle structural imbalances within food systems in conflict-affected regions.

Livelihoods Rooted in the Land: The Green Caravan Plants Over 4,000 Trees and Advances Agricultural Projects Across Jordan

The Green Caravan programme planted over 4,000 trees across Jordan in partnership with national institutions, banks, and companies, while also launching the “Productive Livelihoods” project to strengthen self-sufficiency and support farming households.

From Jenin to Hebron, Our Trees Resist Settlement Expansion and Strengthen Farmers’ Steadfastness on the Land

Driven by our conviction that agriculture is a key form of confronting settler-colonial expansion and land confiscation, we continued our Million Tree Campaign in Palestine in cooperation with our partners. Recent interventions included the planting of 4,917 diverse fruit trees across several targeted villages during the second quarter of 2026.

“If Only You Knew” Team Broadens Agricultural and Environmental Awareness Across Schools, Universities, and Institutions

As part of our ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the importance of agriculture and its role in achieving food sovereignty, our “If Only You Knew” team, together with volunteers, implemented a series of workshops, lectures, and interactive activities targeting students in schools, universities, and various institutions in Jordan.
