The Arab Group for the Protection of Nature resumed its activities as part of the Green Caravan program following the first rainfall this season.  The trees were planted in two batches, at the beginning and the end of the year. With the support of Tamam International Poultry Company, the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature were able to plant a total of 1000 fruit trees in Al-Dhlail, northeast of Zarqa Governorate. Both Ahel for Community Organizing and a local community-based group called The Good People of Dhlail participated in the tree-growing campaign (January 16 and December 3, 2020).

The trees will benefit 85 families living in the poorest parts of Al-Dhlail and come in many varieties, to include lemon, orange, olive, apricot, peach, fig, and almond.

It is important to note that Al-Dhlail is a very fertile and productive area.  The Arab Group for the Protection of Nature is looking forward to implementing home gardens there to support safe food and self-sufficiency for the owners.
