APN honors OXFAM for Israeli Settlements Boycott | The Arab Group for the Protection of Nature

Amman – APN planted 10 olive trees in Palestine in the name of OXFAM as a symbolic gesture recognizing its stance to boycott all types of commercial relationships with Israeli settlements which are considered illegal by International Law due to their violations of Palestinians rights.

APN president and staff welcomed a delegation from OXFAM on Wednesday May 7th. 2014. APN president, Engineer Razan Zuayter presented a Certificate of Recognition to OXFAM Programs Director Mr. Kanchora Halake.

Recently, OXFAM Organization had dispensed Actress Scarlet Johansson from being her Ambassador at the turn of year 2014 when OXFAM thought that promoting Israeli products produced in a settlement located in the occupied west bank contradicts with her role as an ambassador.Engineer Zuayter reiterated the need to encourage and recognize any international stance that supports our just cause among which what OXFAM did when it condemned the injustice the Palestinians face by occupation forces and settlements. She referred to the importance of the civil society role in lobbying and putting pressure on public opinion to remove injustice and spread justice. Mr. Halake expressed appreciation to what APN did so far to support farmers' steadfastness in Jordan and Palestine.
