In April 2017, Ms. Razan Zuayter, as the founder of the Million Tree Campaign, was chosen among the 12 finalists selected from 65,000 contestants in the Hope Makers Competition.

While this was a celebrated accomplishment, disappointment ensued after the final state of the committee proceeded in utter disorganization; the organizing committee and jury were reassigned, the initial schedule was rearranged, and of the 5 chosen finalists (later winners), 3 initiatives were chosen randomly rather than selected from the 12 finalists.Al Ghad Newspaper Press Release:
