APN seeks to strengthen the capacity of the Arab peoples to sustain the region's natural resources and gain sovereignty over them , particularly in areas suffering from war and occupation.
As part of an institutional partnership with Jordanian banks, APN carried out 4 planting activities targeting over 60 families in the Jordan Valley. The activities were organized in collaboration with Ahliya for Agriculture in the central Jordan Valley and the Al Numeira Environmental Assocation in the southern Jordan Valley. The trees were planted with the help of 200 volunteers.
The first activity took place on the 4th of November, 2017, where 320 lemon trees were planted in the Central Jordan Valley. The trees were sponsored by Safwa Islamic Bank, and planted with the help of 80 students from the Omareya Schools.
On the 11th of November, 500 lemon, orange and guava trees sponsored by the Jordan Commercial Bank were planted in the southern Jordan Valley.
On the 17th of November, 250 trees, sponsored by Ahli Bank, were planted in the central Jordan Valley with the help of 20 volunteers from APN, the bank’s employees and the local community.
The Green Caravan concluded its activities on the 18th of November by planting 250 fruit trees near the Jordan River. The trees were sponsored by the Bank of Jordan and planted with the help of 70 of the bank’s employees.
