APN seeks to strengthen the capacity of the Arab peoples to sustain the region's natural resources and gain sovereignty over them , particularly in areas suffering from war and occupation.
On 22/11/2017, APN held its annual press conference at the Landmark Hotel – Amman to showcase its achievements in 2017 and its future plans for 2018. The press conference also hosted Omar Barghouti, BDS co-founder and guest speaker at APN’s Annual Dinner.
APN President Rami Barhoush announced the Annual Dinner, which took place three days later (25/11/2017) and noted that APN aims use the Dinner’s proceeds to plant 150,000 fruit trees for agricultural families in vulnerable areas across Palestine and Jordan.
APN General Manager Mariam Al Jaajaa presented the most significant accomplishments of APN’s Million Tree Campaign in Palestine, the Green Caravan in Jordan, as well as its advocacy program that works on influencing national, regional and international agricultural and food policies (see a copy of APN’s achievements in Arabic here: http://apnature.org/ar/content/hm-lmhtt-fy-ljmy-lrby-lhmy-ltby)
On the importance of the BDS campaign, Mr. Barghouti expressed that peace without justice only institutionalizes tyranny, and that the campaign is among the most promising, ambitious and influential global movements driven by the Palestinians to retrieve their rights and achieve justice.
