On 2-4 May 2017, APN attended a three-day intensive workshop on Strategic Environment Assessment (SEA) organized by the Jordanian Federation for Environmental NGOs in collaboration with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung.

25 participants from different organizations attended the workshop, while APN was represented by its General Manager Mariam Al Jaajaa and its Advocacy Officer Zeina Fakhriddin. The SEA training was delivered by Dr. Suha Al-Madbouh, who gave a similar session in Ramallah in August 2016.

SEA is an important sustainability tool that addresses the environmental, economic and social implications of proposed policies, programmes and other strategic actions. The attendees were taught how to follow the framework for the application of the assessment, an incredibly integral step in ensuring environmental sustainability of decisions made at the higher strategic levels.
