In an effort to support families in Jerusalem and provide them with a sustainable source of income, APN collaborated with the Al Nahda Rural Society to train women in Jerusalem in pastry and desserts.

112 women from 16 villages across Jerusalem (Al Jeeb, Bedu, Bir Nabala, Al Jadeera, Beit Hanina, Al Nabi Samuel, Rafat, Qalandiya, Beit Sourik, Beit Ijza, Beit Duqqo, Qatna, Beit Anan, Beit Iksa, Al Kabiba, Om Al Lahm) received the training which was funded by the International Islamic Charitable Organization in Kuwait and supervised by Wakf Al Quds - Lebanon.

The aim of the project is to create a female community where women have the technical skills, the equipment and the materials required to launch their own personal projects. The idea is to have women make high quality products that can be marketed and sold to provide an economic return for the women and their families.

The project also trained a number of university students on marketing food products, whereby they will commission the marketing of the women's products. These fees will help pay off university tuition. To note, some of the ladies who received training have opened their own shops that works on orders and home deliveries.
