APN , through its manager Mariam Al jaajaa participated in the IUCN National Committee meeting on the 25th of July at the IUCN Regional Office for West Asia.

The committee identified three sub-committees for member organizations to work through:  administrative, technical and accountability.

APN was nominated to be among the technical committee members.  The meeting also discussed the Dibeen case whereby old indigenous trees, which are part of Jordan's national heritage, are being sold in public auctions.  Participants suggested mechanisms to ensure the committees involvement in campaigning for issues of prime national importance such as this one.

And on the 29th of August, 2017, APN Advocacy Officer Zeina Fakhriddin attended a workshop on initiating the national adaptation plan process in Jordan to support the implementation of the Paris Agreement and Jordan’s Nationally Determined Contributions. The workshop was organized by GIZ, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, and looked at ways to mainstream adaptation policies at the sectorial level and ways to make use of the National Climate Change Committee.
